Hello, I'm Jon Franklin

I was born in London, in 1963. Shouting The Odds is my debut novel and my inspiration for writing it comes from over thirty years' experience of the betting and racing industry. Shouting The Odds received glowing reviews in the Racing Post and the Sporting Life and I was also the subject of a two part interview by Simon Nott as part of the #BettingPeople series which can be viewed on You Tube. The stand-alone sequel to Shouting The Odds, Manvers Road Star, was published in March, 2025. Something of a music buff, my bravest achievement in life was probably playing tenor saxophone in a bossa nova three-piece group in a pub in Nottingham filled with greasy bikers - and surviving to tell the tale! I live in Malmö Sweden with my wife Annika with whom I have a daughter.
